Breaking up with these strange dark times happening in the world right now, we decided to close the year with a new path for the project AMEN. What started as a proto-jungle influenced think tank event organizer in Lisbon's region, is now embracing a new editorial project, "AMEN LX '' releasing it’s first single in a limited edition 10” vinyl.
As a natural evolution from the project created by Xtanki, Zero and YLS, the new label will focus mainly in jungle/breaks/broken-beat lead music, intending to release not only national homegrown artists but also international artists that are in tune with the core “ethos” of the project, label and movement.
On this first release we have a couple of collaborations written between the AMEN collective, straying both 3 members from their original core sound as producers, merging their combined experiences lived both on stage and in the dancefloor’s of AMEN’s parties.
SIDE A: YLS, Xtanki & Zero - “Lined Up”
On this tune we can hear straight away the jungle influences and core sound that makes up AMEN. Combining 90s pads, subtle chords, rooted broken beats and heavy basslines, this track is a serious introduction for the project.
SIDE B: Xtanki & Zero - “Extent”
On the B Side Xtanki and Zero take on the controls unleashing a classic jungle tune with a modern approach. Using jungle/drum and bass huge influential “melting pot”, this song is full of classical sampling references, mixed in with a more modern half tempo broken beat. Serious vibes on this one.
10" Vinyl Clear Dubplate - Strictly limited edition one off pressing.

Shoutouts
The AMEN movement wouldn’t be possible without the help of some of our dearest and close friends: DJ Carie for helping the development of the concept and image, Slize for the energy and hype behind the decks and mic, Senhor 67 with his fresh and slower approach to broken beats, Cátia Barbosa the unstoppable photographer/memory creator, 404 Not Found for the sleepless nights behind the sound system, and of course the Kalimodjo and Skalator Music crews who co-promoted/helped organize the events with us. Big up!
